When buying a new motherboard and processor do the FSB sizes have to match?

If i buy a motherboard that has a FSB of 1000 Mhz and a processor that hyper transports 2000 mhz am I shooting myself by buying a motherboard that only supports 1000Mhz rather than 2000Mhz??? thanks
