What pet birds are small and easy to take care of?

I have 3 Budgies, and I am wanting to get a different kind of small bird.Something like a atiel, lovebird, or anything except canaries or finches (their 'hands off' right? And don't like to be picked up to much?) Also, something that doesn't need special food like how lorys need nectar. Mess isn't a factor.
