Are these good specs for a gaming PC?

That is a very good system, but upgrade the OS to Windows 7 Professional. Someone earlier said go to Ultimate, but unless you plan on using the BitLocker Storage online storage system and plan to perform tasks in multiple languages (the only two additional features on Ultimate over Professional), stick with Windows 7 Professional.
