Severe allergy to lake water? Anyone ever hear of that?

Im seeing an allergist on tuesday, but i was just curious if anyone has heard of something like this. Google showed nothing. I can stick my feet in the water or go out on the boat. But if i submerge by head or somehow ingest it i get a bad reaction. My lips and face swell. I sneeze repeatedly. I also have difficulty swallowing. It started with minor allergy symptoms and then last time in I went in the lake last summer I got the severe symptoms like swollen face and difficulty swallowing.
